COME AND FIND REST IN ME

Matthew 11: 28 – 30 “Come all you who are weary and heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest (ease, relieve, and refresh your souls). Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is wholesome, (useful, good, not harsh, hard, sharp or pressing, but comfortable, gracious and pleasant) and my burden is light and easy to be born.”
Let’s look at that word, ‘come.’ What do we come away from? Despair, discouragement, hopelessness and deep hurt.
In this invitation He also says, ‘learn of me.’ We must heed and fully trust these words: yoke up, walk alongside of Me, don’t carry this load all by yourself, let Me shoulder it with you.
This is another picture of His individual love for each of us. We must allow Him to be truly Lord. Oh, that we would all grasp what Abraham did. By faith, even though it seemed impossible, he believed (Rom. 4: 18 – 21). We must know this word and believe that it is truth, applicable to each of our lives today. Read and re-read this until it becomes a part of you. The rest for your soul will come.
